Some may say I lead a sheltered life. LOL I bought a pack of Johnsonville Brats today for the first time. I usually buy Hillshire Smoked sausage for the grill, but decided to try these.
What's the best way to prepare them?

My hubby always marinates them in our favorite BBQ sauce, and throws them on the grill. YUMMY!

I just posted these at Jacks site when someone had a request:
This is from the Bob Evans site but you can use whatever brand you have.
BBQ Beer Brat Kabobs
1 pkg. Bob Evans Beer Bratwurst (approximately 5 links), cut into 1-inch pieces 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces 1 medium zucchini, cut into 1-inch pieces 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1 -inch pieces 1 medium yellow squash, cut into 1-inch pieces 2 cups fresh button mushroom caps 1 medium red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces 2 cups Bob Evans Wildfire Barbecue Sauce 6 10" wooden skewers
Soak wooden skewers in water 30 minutes. Alternately thread bratwurst and vegetables onto skewers. Grill or broil kabobs 12 to 15 minutes or until brats are cooked through, turning and brushing occasionally with barbecue sauce. Refrigerate leftovers.
Makes 6 kabobs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bratwurst Kabobs Submitted by:The Kitchen at Johnsonville Sausage
This treat brings summer to your table anytime.
• 1/2 c. soy sauce • 1/4 c. apple juice concentrate • 3 Tbsp. spicy mustard • 2 medium sweet red peppers, cut into 1-in. pieces • 1 medium green pepper, cut into 1-in. pieces • 1 medium yellow summer squash, cut into 1/2-in. cubes • 1 medium onion, cut into wedges • 1 pkg. (19.76 oz.) Johnsonville® Fresh Original Bratwurst, cut into 1/2-in. slices • Metal or wooden skewers
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, apple juice concentrate and mustard; add vegetables. Seal bag; refrigerate for one hour. Place brats in large sauce pan and add enough water to cover brats. Parboil on med-high heat for about 10 minutes. Remove from pan and allow to cool slightly. Slice each brat into 5 equal pieces and thread onto metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternating with the vegetables. Brush with reserved marinade and grill over medium heat until vegetables are tender and brats are golden brown, turning and basting frequently with reserved marinade. Serve immediately.
Other times we just grill them and serve them like sausage sandwiches. I like mine with kraut, onions, cheese, mustard.

Boil beer to a boil and simmer them for 20 minutes, do not pierce them. Grill and serve with satued onions & peppers and a ton of mustard! OH so good. ;D

Learned from my dad to boil in beer first and then grill, like bean does! Though I do not like beer (at all, ick!) I do like my brats this way! ;D

We just slap 'em on the grill. Remember the commercial for them where the guy says " this isn't regular sausage so don't poke holes in the brats!"
