I have tried many recipes and found this one to be the best for me. Be sure to use good quality ingredients and pure unsalted butter.
Butter Cookies (Spritz)
Preheat oven to 350*
CREAM: 1 cup unsalted butter. Gradually add 1 cup sugar and cream well. ADD: 1 egg, 1/4 tsp salt and 2 tsp pure vanilla. Beat well. BLEND IN: 2-2/3 cups sifted flour until well combined and soft dough forms.
Fill cookie press or drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7-10 minutes until light golden on bottoms.
**NOTE: I SET MY TIMER FOR 7 MINUTES AND GO FROM THERE. THESE WILL BURN IN A SPLIT SECOND SO WATCH CAREFULLY. I FROST MINE WITH A BUTTER, FLAVORED EXTRACT, POWDER SUGAR FROSTING TINTED WITH DYE. AS FOR FLAVORINGS I USE VANILLA, ANISE, LEMON, ORANGE AND STRAWBERRY.
