I also included my green tomato relish recipe. ;D Fried Green Tomatoes 6 to 8 large green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick 2 egg, beaten 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce, or to taste 1 tsp. salt pinch of black pepper 2 cup fine bread crumbs Olive oil for frying Coat tomato slices with flour, then dip in egg (seasoned with salt, pepper, and hot sauce) and finally in bread crumbs. Using medium heat, brown on both sides in a skillet with 1/2" of oil. Serve hot, with extra hot sauce and green tomato relish. Bean's Green Tomato Relish 1 small sweet onion, chopped 2 medium green tomatoes, diced 1/4 t. sugar 1 T. white vinegar 1 t. hot sauce 1/2 t. lemon juice Salt & pepper to taste Simmer ingredients for about 1 1/2 hours. Serve warm over Fried Green Tomatoes. Mmmmmmm

Last night I made FGT BLT's and used the new Italian Style Panko Breadcrumbs which rocked! I put mayo, hot sauce and my green tomato relish on the sammys. DELISH!

Green tomatoes are just un-ripened tomatoes, right?
My question is.. you don't have to drain them like ripened tomatoes, right??? Just cut and go??
I know this might sound silly.. but you are dealing with a New Englander who only has tomatoes when they are ripe and juicy..

No need to drain them. How did the recipe turn out Tessa?

oh man I LOVE fried green tomatoes, I need to find some lol I make a batter out of flour, paprika, salt and pepper dip the tomatoes in milk then the batter and fry them up. I really want some now lol
