YUMMY cake ~ I had originally posted this in Recipes To Try and well, I tried it today and it is really good. I would make this again for a picnic or to take as a dish to pass. Pear and Gingerbread Cake from the 2005 Taste of Home Quick Cooking cookbook 1/4 cup butter, melted 2 cans (each 15-1/4 ounces) sliced pears, drained and patted dry 1/3 cup sugar 1 package (14-1/2 ounce) gingerbread cake mix Spread the butter in a 9" square baking dish. Arrange pear slices in rows over the butter. Sprinkle with sugar. Prepare cake mix batter according to package directions. Carefully pour over pears and bake 350* for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes beore inverting onto a serving platter. The pears will be on top like a pineapple upside down cake - very pretty. Serves about 9
