I've been wanting to make this recipe for so many years and just haven't found the time. I am sorry I waited so long as they are so good. I did not use the nuts because DH does not like them. I also made one pan with orange glaze by adding a smidgen of orange extract to the glaze recipe below. With the other pan, I made another glaze recipe that will follow under the recipe.
Kim Christiansen's Creamy Cinnamon Rolls 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed 2 Tbsp. butter, melted 2/3 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 cup whipping cream ~Glaze~ 2/3 cup powdered sugar 1 Tbsp. milk Roll dough into 18x6 inch rectangle. Brush with the butter. Combine brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over dough. Roll up jelly-roll fashion from long side. Moisten edges and seal. Cut into 20 slices. Place rolls, cut side down in two 8 inch round pans. Let rise until they double about one hour. Pour cream over rolls. Bake in 350* oven for 25 minutes. While warm, drizzle top with powdered sugar glaze. Source: The Good Afternoon Colorado Cookbook (1992) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ White Sauce For Cinnamon Bread 1 cup whole milk 2 TBS unsalted butter, melted and cooled 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 TBS flour dash salt Whisk all together in a bowl. Serve in a pretty bowl with a ladle or as we did at the restaurant, served in a condiment bottle (like a ketchup or mustard bottle). Best if served slightly warm.
